What Katy Did Weddings was set up after Kate's personal
experience of organising a traditional country wedding in Devon. Kate
set about the project as she was unable to find anyone that could provide
a service with the attention to detail that she required. It became an
exciting venture for herself and for all the local people involved. The
huge success of this for everyone involved provided Kate with a platform
from which to establish herself as a country wedding and event stylist.
So whether it be a tea party, an anniversary or a wedding, Kate can work
with you to create a relaxed but well organised event to be remembered.
What is Event Design and styling?
When you look in magazines or books, these amazing images you see are created by stylists. They put together these beautiful images, from objects and pieces, collating them and styling them to create a mood. Any event and wedding is no different to this, requiring each detail to be designed and styled, looking at mood, colour, texture and placement. A stylist takes every detail into account. Kate does exactly this for your event or wedding, creating a bespoke design that encompasses all you would want for the day.
Weddings, where do we begin!
So you have the date and some ideas of what you want for the day, but not know how to begin to put it together, that's where I can help! Finding you the right florist, the perfect cake, to designing the thank you cards, I will be on hand to help you every step of the way. Starting with an initial chat, we can talk over your ideas and wishes for the day, going through magazines and images together refining your vision of your wedding day, including the all important budget. I will then take all your elements, to create a customised inspiration board, presenting you with a personal impression for the day. I take into consideration every detail of the day, from flowers, stationery, seating, décor, food, favors and of course fashion. The inspiration board will be a display of my work on collating all your ideas, into a cohesive aesthetic, that is bespoke and personal for you. The inspiration board, will then be used as a guide to help through the rest of the planning process.
At our second meeting we will use the board, as a foundation on which to build the day. Chatting over the images and ideas and how to bring them to life! I will be with you to help see through each idea, right up to and on day, seeing every detail is just right!
